This past weekend I was able to drive home to spend a few days with my friends and family in Manhattan. My brother is home for a few weeks and my friend Allison and her new husband, Melih, had their Manhattan Reception for their recent wedding! It was so great to spend even just a few days laughing and enjoying being around some of the people that I love.
One of my favorite things to do on a long drive home is to look at all of the flowers that are currently in bloom in the fields along the highway. There were so many gorgeous sunflowers all along the way and a few tiny yellows and some purples as well. I only stopped to take capture a few of them along the way and just enjoyed them from afar for the rest of my drive. The rolling hills, trees, and hay bails are fun to admire as well.
Allison and Melih's reception was adorable. They ended up going to the courthouse in D.C. for their ceremony, which they skyped their parents into. They showed us a few pictures of the day and it nearly made me cry. It was so sweet and I am just so happy for them. Their reception was complete with a nice meal, cheesecake, and of course, sparklers. I had a wonderful time and I am so glad that I got to see her and a few other friends as well! It is always so nice to catch up with old friends!
Hanging out with my family is always such a blast as well! I loved getting to spend a little bit of time with them. Mom and I went our Target Run ritual, of course, and ran a few other errands to my favorite places as well. I enjoyed lounging around our living room with my brother and his friend, Mike, watching them play minecraft and watching my parents new sheltie hop around Professor and my parents dog, Rex. It was the perfect way to relax and reboot for another week of teaching!
hope you had a great weekend!
