One of my students not so gently reminded me this past week that I am halfway to 50, and though I think they meant it as a dig, I really like the stage in life that I am at! Sure being an adult can be difficult and oddly confusing at times, but I love the freedom that I have. I love being married to Dave, I love living in our tiny little house and playing with our crazy dog. I love my job and my morning coffee. I love being 25.
All I asked for for my birthday this year was for the kitchen backsplash to be finished. I don't need much to be happy, but it would be nice to finally have a finished kitchen and some ice cream from coldstone creamery (though that could be the pregnancy talking). I am amazed though, that all I asked for was the backsplash but I got some amazing time with friends in the past few weeks and some of the more thoughtful gifts that even I wouldn't have thought of. Plus I get the gift of growing this tiny man and feeling him wiggle and squirm every day and that is the greatest gift of all.
Let's do this, 25.
