A broken toilet in a one bathroom house is a pregnant woman's worst nightmare. Our toilet stopped flushing after Erin's bridal shower, and since it was on a weekend (and in Newton) we were basically screwed. Dave and I went to bed that night with the hopes that the large amounts of draino we dumped down the toilet would somehow do some good. Luckily Dave works right next door so through the night (since I go several times in the night) we planned to run over and use the bathroom there. I managed to hold it until 8 am that next morning but had to go so bad! Moose and I ran over there as fast as we could to escape the cold, it was a great relief. On the way home though Moose found a chicken wing, yes the wing of a chicken covered in feathers, and I chased him around the yard in my husbands large slippers and my pregnancy belly hanging out of my way too small non maternity shirt. I will laugh about it one day and until then I will just thank my lucky stars that we now have a working toilet.
With our second semester coming to an end, it is hard to decide which trimester I liked/disliked better. Each one so far has been different from the other with it's own ups and downs. The second semester, I will admit, has been a little rough with the addition of heart burn, sciatic nerve pain, and dramatic mood swings, but getting to feel him move around has been pretty cool! I guess no one ever said pregnancy would be easy! Here are a few things that have helped me get through this second trimester so far:
