I find if funny how much I measure Emmet's age on where he sleeps at night. I remember the switch from carrying his moses basket from room to room with me to just putting it in his room, and then being so distraught when it was time to start putting him into his crib to sleep at night instead of in his bassinet right next to my bed. Yesterday he pulled himself up to standing in his crib for the first time and we decided it was time to lower his crib down on the bottom (don't ask how that went!) which for some reason made him all of the sudden seem so old. It is so crazy to think that he has been out in the world just about as long as he was in my belly. Those 9 months of him in my belly seemed to go on so long and since he has been out time has just been flying! I just want it to slow down a little so I can treasure these squishy baby thighs and spaghetti covered cheeks.
Emmet at 9 months:
-This month Emmet weighs 16 pounds 12 ounces and is 27.5 inches long. His doctor says he needs to gain a little bit of weight. So this lucky boy is going to get his mouth stuffed full of some yummy goodness these next few weeks. My little carb baby will get all the bread his heart desires! He has been wearing his 9-12 month clothes for a few months now and will hopefully be into the warmer weather. This momma bought too many cute t shirts and shorts in this size!
-He is always moving! In the past three months since we updated last he has started crawling, pushing himself up to sitting, pulling himself up to standing, and he loves to walk around holding my fingers. His favorites thing are to stand at the coffee table and play with his toys, smacking them on the table and waving them around in the air and he LOVES to crawl over to the roomba vacuum and reprogram it to run at midnight. A budding programmer just like his daddy.
-Emmet has two teeth! His two bottom teeth came in a few weeks ago and he has been chomping on all of his toys (and on mommy!) He eats baby food, but LOVES to eat pasta, puffs, yogurt puffs, and bread. He is a carb boy to the max just like his momma.
-Emmet loves to yell and laugh. He still yells "Ba" on repeat so much that I call him my little chicken. My favorite though is when he whispers "Ba" instead, mostly just enjoying the feeling of his lips moving I think. No real words yet, but we are ready whenever he is!
-As of the past few days, Emmet has started waving hi and bye. We are really lucky to have AMAZING day care ladies who work on things like this with him all day! We've been practicing some at home too, but I really give them the credit!
I'm loving Emmet so much at this stage. His little giggles and the way he hugs me just send me over the moon. I feel so luck to be his momma!
