This kid. I don't even know where to start. We learn a little something more about his personality everyday it seems like. Always changing, always growing, always learning and it is keeping this mama on the very tip of her toes. There are so many things about his personality, it is hard to narrow down. But here is a suuuper quick over view of Emmet at 1.5 years old.
-Emmet now wears 2T clothing, but all of the pants are a little too long (he gets is unusually short legs from his mama, I'm afraid). The feet on his footy pajama's drag all over the floor and he slips all around, but they are the only thing that keeps him warm at night. Plus he looks pretty darn cute in them. -Emmet is a PICKY eater. He won't eat any of the meals that we eat, which means even more food prep for me. We're trying to figure out new things to give him though and I have read a few articles that have definitely helped. Right now his favorites are Annie's mac and cheese, ketchup, chicken nuggets (not too salty), ketchup, waffles, ketchup, pizza, ketchup, yogurt and granola, ketchup, and apple sauce. He is starting to figure out how to use a spoon. We struggled for a long time, but I finally got him this silicone set that he LOVES and now he is willing to use it. Plus it helps me with proportions AND we give a few different foods at a time, because I read that that helped with a picky eater. We'll get there. -He LOVES water. He drinks so much of it and one of his favorite things to do is hold it in his mouth and spit it out all over himself and the floor (we call it fountain). He loves to play in water too, bath time is his favorite (except for when he gets soap in his eyes). Unfortunately though he has become quite the regular shower/bath pooper... -Emmet is super mobile. He walks and runs everywhere. He spins and dances. and he climbs on absolutely everything. He is always up on the chairs at the dining room table or standing on the coffee table. Which means he can now reach everything. So we have to hide everything we don't want him finding. He also LOVES going to the playground by our house to climb up the stairs and go down the slide. He loves running up and down hills. -He gets into everything! He loves to open drawers and cabinet drawers (so we finally had to baby proof). His favorite is to get out the pot and pan lids like a classic baby and he LOVES getting out our old spinning spice rack. He puts his toys on them and spins them around and around. -Emmet is very observant. He watches everything we do and subtly copies us too. My favorite, that we just figured out, is that he takes all of his toys and stashes him behind his back, like we do with the remotes when we don't want him to find them. -Emmet says quite a few words! "Hi, Mama, Dada, Up, Done, Water, More, Help, Banana" and will repeat "I and Love" and sometimes others. He hasn't added a new word in a while but he is ALWAYS talking about something. He babbles and laughs most of the time. -Emmet loves to play with blocks, puzzles, remotes, duplos.. anything that require some figuring out or that fit together. He loves to stack his stacking toys and to make towers with blocks. He loves to put shapes in his shape sorter (he is getting pretty good!) and he loves to pick things up and dump things out and put things on his head.
