S'mores Krispies

Ready for some ooey, gooey goodness? These S'mores Krispies are just the treat to satisfy those cravings. I first found these when I was in high school, I believe for a bake sale, and I made them a million times in a month. Okay like four or six. Maybe three. The point is that I really loved them, enough to make them more than once and for some reason I haven't made them since.
In the summer time I turn into kind of a wimp. Okay, in the summer AND the winter time. Kansas has such extreme summers and winters that I, at a certain point, just stop going outside. My running stops (if it had been going at all...) and so does any other outdoor activity. It is sad, I love the outdoors, the sunshine, the flowers, etc but the heat in the summer time just gets to me. It is like hanger, except for lacking food you have an excess of heat and no way to fix it except for to go inside. I'm a wimp, I know. Don't even get me started on the mosquitos.
So all this is really to say, the idea of sitting around a campfire in the hot, hot heat getting eaten by swarms of blood sucking bugs is not really my cup of tea. Which makes s'mores near impossible unless you toast marshmallows over the gas stove, which we have done, OR unless you make these bad boys. These delicious ooey gooey krispie treats with all of that summertime flavor and without the heat and blood sucking. You are welcome.

To Make these delicious treats you will need:
  • One box  Golden Grahams Cereal
  • One bag marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 cups of Milk Chocolate chips
(Preheat your oven to 275 degrees) I start by melting the butter in a sauce pan over medium heat. Once the butter has completely melted, stir in the whole bag of marshmallows and keep stirring until every one of those fluffy bad boys is melted too. Now, this next step can go a few different ways. I have left the Golden Grahams in their whole intact shape before and I have also crushed them into little itty bitty pieces or even a combination of the two. And that part is up to you. Whatever you choose though, stir them into your buttery melted marshmallows until they are completely covered and them spread it all out into a greased 9x13 pan. I sprinkle all of the chocolate chips on top nice and evenly (sometimes I even stir a few in- if I am feeling crazy). If your oven has preheated adequately put this whole dish into the oven for 8 minutes, or however long it takes those chocolate chips to melt. Then take it out, spread the chocolate chips out with a knife and let it cool until the chocolate hardens. Or, devour it right then and there and burn your tongue, or worse, walk around with chocolate all over your face like a fool until your husband finally points it out. Your choice:)
