In January I posted about wanting to work towards being zero waste with my Lavender & Clover brand, or at least as close as I can get to it. I've been trying out ideas and I think I found the first perfect idea for using up our baby blanket/ product scraps! We now have lavender sachets as an add on item with our blankets and available as individuals at all of our shows. Each sachet is about 3x3 inches of left over scrap fabric and is filled to the brim with dried lavender. They are perfect to store them with your baby's new baby blanket to keep it smelling lavender fresh plus I like to keep them in my sock drawer so that my feet smell like flowers. Lord knows my feet need a little help. All baby products are stored with them in my home studio after they are made, so they will arrive at your door smelling absolutely delicious and soothing for baby.
We've got two new pom pom pillows to add to the collection... and more coming! New to the collection this week are the outer space pom pom pillow and the succulents and cacti pom pom pillow. I think the colors look pretty cute together! They are the perfect throw pillow on the rocking chair in the nursery, or are adorable thrown under a kids tent. Plus, there is absolutely no shame in buying one for yourself too. We all deserve a little bit of whimsy in our lives, right? I think so.
I loved the idea of adding a line of lovies to our collection and as I was trying to figure out how to use our scraps I figured one of a kind quilted lovies would be the perfect way to use them (in addition to our lavender sachets). Right now there are only two, but as I continue sewing baby products there are sure to be more! No two lovies are exactly the same as the different scraps I get from cutting out blankets, bibs, teether toys, and burp rags are all different shapes and sizes! Plus lovies are and will be made in all different combinations of our fabric designs.
Lovies are the perfect size for a snuggle toy that can stay in the crib, be around the house, or take with you on the go! They are made from one side of quilted organic cotton and one side of soft white flannel and serged around the edges.
