With this new spring weather here, I felt as though it was time for some new springy card sets! Trees and flowers are blooming and birds are chirping outside of my windows and it just makes me so happy! These card sets are the perfect gift for some one else who LOVES writing letters to people, or you can surprise 6 people with a handwritten note if you keep them for yourself! The Backyard Birdies Card Set (see bib here) features six different birds; Meadowlark, Zebra Finch, Bluejay, Cardinal, Harris's Sparrow, and House Finch, as well as six kraft paper envelopes. The Pink Flowers Card Set features six different flowers; peonies, poppies, gerbera daisies, dahlias, proteas, and scepter'd isle roses with six light pink envelopes.
I've got two new individual cards to add to the collection! The Meadowlark painting is my absolute favorite of all of the birds, so I felt as though it needed to be sold individually as well! It comes with a matching bright yellow envelope perfect for brighting up anyone's day... plus it would be really cute as the card that goes with a gift set of birdie baby items, am I right?
The second individually sold card is this Threshing Stone Card. For those of you who are not aware, a threshing stone is an old piece of farm equipment that is essentially a large rock AND the mascot for Bethel College. A little backstory here, I'm not a person who is huge into sports or team spirit. I'm just not. My art students asked me if I had a bracket filled out the other day, and I had no idea what they were talking about! There were two time periods in my life, though, that I did have a sense of school pride, and they coincide with some of my favorite memories growing up; my elementary school days at Eugene Field Elementary School and my college days at Bethel College. I was so proud to be a part of those schools, I loved every bit about the years that I spent at them and I cherish the memories I made in those buildings and on those campuses. They also had some of the weirdest, most peculiar mascots and I'm not sure if that had anything to do with my love for them, but it could be! In elementary school we were the unicorns (and then when that school shut down I went on to be a Teddy Bear...), so when I found out that Bethel's mascot was a big rock, I was pretty excited. It was destiny. So to commemorate my days at just one of those fine places, I painted a threshing stone. The cards are perfect for graduation or just saying hello to your favorite Thresher AND the threshing stone print is even available on baby blankets, burp rags, teether toys, and bandana bibs for all of those Bethel babies.
Hurrah for more Toddler Quilts and Pom Pom Pillows! We now have a SECOND print available in both items; our adorable swan print! This set (sold individually) would be adorable in a little birdie themed toddler room (I dream of one day designing one, in case you hadn't heard). It features our black and white watercolor swans printed on a light pink cotton fabric. The pom pom pillows have a white pom pom edging and a black polka dot back and the toddler quilt has a layer of cotton quilt batting and a polka dot back. I will continue adding more of our prints to the selection of pillows and quilts let me know and I will rush that one along!
