With just two more days left in the Living Things Art Show at Mojo's Coffee Bar, I thought it was time to share part two! This part features even more plants that I was never able to keep alive and one that I was! In college I had the biggest, most beautiful jade plant, she was my pride and joy. Then I moved into this horrible apartment across the street from the train tracks that had absolutely no windows at all (slight exaggeration) and all of my paints, including my jade, died. I've also tried several times to own a string of pearls plant, and every time they die. I am beginning to think I might be cursed. To have such a love for succulents and to not be able to keep them alive is near torture- so I paint them. My one cactus that HAS stayed alive for several years I wanted to honor for its bravery and courage in belonging to me, was a prairie cactus that I picked and planted at home from the actual land that Dave and I got married, it got into the show too, despite its lack of needed some sort of memorial.
Also in this part of the show is the remaining originals to my series of broken bouquets, two original watercolors that became the floral print for my pink floral baby products, and originals of pink flowers from my pink flowers card set. These are not plants that I have killed, but they are flowers that I absolutely adore and love to paint.
I hope you'll go out and see the show in its last two days up at Mojo's. Pieces are still for sale and the remaining pieces will travel with me to shows in the next few months! I'll have all of our items for sale at a Pop Up Shop at Mojo's on Saturday from 10-3 to celebrate the last day of the show! I hope you will come out and shop!
