I have been wanting to do a color run of some sort for a few years now, or really as long as I have seen photos flooding my facebook newsfeed of other people having a blast doing them. So when my friend Kristin mentioned that she had our other friend Kelsey were doing one it took me all of .25 seconds to say, "You are doing the color run, I want to do the color run, PLEASE TAKE ME WITH YOU." So they did.
It is amazing how just having colored powder thrown in your face can make you instantly able to run 3 miles without getting tired for the first time in, well, now a handful of years. I used to be a runner. I would run 3 miles minimum 3-4 times a week. I was crazy, looking back, and I wore myself out. It was not something I could keep up at all (and I am not known to keep my lofty goals). I still run sometimes, but mostly I walk and jog every once in a while and I am very okay with it. But, the color run? That can get me to run again. and I loved it.
It was also great to spend more time with Kelsey and Kristin! We spent the night before making tutus and giggling about "our big race" the next morning. We joked about needing to carbo load in order to make it through the "big race". It was really a lot of fun and I am so glad that Kristin mentioned the race!
