This past weekend Dave and I, and both of our dogs, drove up to Kansas City for a little business/getaway weekend before my summer comes to an end (and also to celebrate our anniversary). We had so many things to pack into one weekend, but it was enjoyable none the less!
Between two, yes really TWO, trips to IKEA we enjoyed spending time lounging and laughing at his parents house with his family. Both of his brothers were also in town for business, as well as our two little nephews. I think the highlight of the entire weekend was explaining to our younger nephew that Professor (our shih tzu) is in fact older than Moose (our german short haired pointer who is much larger than Professor despite being 6 years younger). He just put his little hand on his head and said "oh, that makes me tie-ohd" in his adorable little voice, as he plopped down on the ground. That kid is just all around hilarious and this made my day. It's the little things you guys.
My favorite part about Kansas City in general is that every time we go there we experience something new. We have had a few repeat stops, because of course we have our favorites (IKEA is there, duh), but generally we find new places to shop and eat and it is amazing to me. Dave's mom is some sort of Kansas City wizard and always has a new idea for us to try and at least 5 recommendations for every need we might have (though she claims to be out of the loop... :) ). It makes every trip up new and exciting.
Some of my favorites from this trip:
Where do you like to eat/shop while you are in Kansas City?
***I'm a liar, the last photo was taken at PF Changs in Wichita... I just couldn't help but share a picture of Dave and I- they are rare***
