I wrapped up painting the other day and we are now so close to having a finished kitchen I can almost taste it. Or at least, I can almost taste the delicious foods that I will make in it, and they will be even more delicious due to the beautiful space they were cooked in, right? ha. No but really we are really close to being done. All thats left to due is find the last two hinges (all of wichita was sold out. Boo) and put up handles. Then once that is done we are bringing in someone to do the backsplash.
So with the bones of the kitchen being so close to being done it is now time for the fun part! Its time to look back at those inspiration pictures that I found and to start dreaming of the finishing touches, which of course comes with a wish list... These are some of the items that I feel like would really help our kitchen both functionally (most of them) and aesthetically. We have a tendency to move more towards black and white everything (even our dogs) so I tried to at least pull in a few pops of color to our list. Here are the items:
#1. Black Kitchen Aide Mixer-I've gone back and forth on whether I want the beautiful tiffany blue mixer from target or whether I want this gorgeous matte black one. Lately I have been swooning over the matte black, and with such a bright white kitchen the black might be the better choice.. darken it up a little.
#2. Anthropologie is out for my heart with this little measuring cup. Is it necessary to have a decorative ceramic measuring cup? No. Will it look adorable in my kitchen next to my ceramic measuring spoons and cup set. YES. I wants it.
#3. I saw this kitchen once with a copper pitcher holding a beautiful bouquet of flowers and I decided that I needed it too. That is just how my brain works. Is it in anyway necessary to get something that is just for the staging? No. But a girl can dream and this one from Crate and Barrel is really pretty.
#4. Our plate collection right now is just our Corelle set that we got right out of college. We've always said we would like to get some nice ceramic ones at some point and these floral plates from Anthropologie are really pretty and would be a nice pop of color in our kitchen.
#5. I have my fair share of coffee making methods at my house, but my tea game is really lacking. I LOVE this tea pot from Mod Cloth. I don't know what it is about it, but I just really love it! (P.S. It is on sale!)
#6. Another beautiful Anthropologie plate to replace our corelle ones. Dave would like more of a simple plate for our large dinner plates (he rarely eats off of the smaller ones anyways, so really it is okay for me to get flower plates in the small size, right?)
#7. This tea towel from Fine Life Co is what tea towels are all about. It would be PERFECT in my kitchen. Cactus print, black and white, and beautiful? Gimme. (I already bought this one. shh)
#8. Leah Duncan is a pure genious and this print of hers would be perfect in our kitchen. I love that it has a black background- it would really pop from our all white everything. I have been fighting this purchase for quite some time. Soon I will give in.
#9. Of course Dave and I need a "G" somewhere in our house. Our little "G" doorknocker from Anthropologie is still waiting on the front door getting a fresh coat of paint, but this "G" from Urban Outfitters would look perfect in our kitchen!
Don't you think we need all of these things? ;)
