This past weekend I hosted a fabric design workshop at Liv & Work in Wichita, Kansas. I met Liv through her Haute and Handmade Markets last November, and quickly became a really good friend of mine! She is so sweet and genuine and an incredible maker. Her adorable little shop is located on Douglas in Downtown Wichita and is one of the more cuter shops I've ever been to. Its a southwestern, boho dream full of her own designs as well as a few other makers & designers.
Our designers drew & painted a design on paper, before I showed them how to scan and edit their photos into a fabric design using photoshop. We practiced using a couple of different tools and picked out fabrics & background colors, before placing an order through Spoonflower, an amazing site full of fabric designs for purchase and the ability to have your own fabric designs printed. Below is a few of the designs that our students came up with! I was so impressed with the drawings they created and I can't wait to see how their fabrics turn out!
