This past weekend we drove to the Manhattan area to hang out with my brother and sister (and my parents too!) while they were in town. We don't get together too often these days as we all live in different places and have things to do, but Emmet arriving in the world was a great excuse to get together as a family!
On Saturday my mom threw Emmet a baby shower! Family traveled in from around the state to meet him and give him hugs and kisses. He met two more of his great grandmas while he was there (he only has 9 great grandparents...). My mom made lots of delicious treats for everyone to eat as well as some mimosas! It was so fun to relax all day while loved ones came and went and I stuffed my belly with far to many fruit pizza cookies.
On Sunday we drove out to my parents lake cabin to meet up with the rest of our extended family. I loved growing up at that lake cabin and I am so glad I got to share it with little Emmet. I'm hoping he will get to go out many more times and one day even go tubing with Great Grandpa Larry! I have so many fond memories of swimming in that green water and eating crepes and ribs (not at the same time) that my grandpa fixed for me and my family and friends. We sat mostly up at the house this year where it was cool for little Emmet, but it was still as fun as I have always remembered.
The rest of the weekend was spent relaxing at home or going for walks to coffee shops in the morning. It was so nice to spend time with my family and watch them snuggle with out little guy!
