I've mentioned before that I have this thing for coffee... so it isn't (or shouldn't be) shocking that I would visit two separate coffee shops and order two different coffees (after having my morning cup at home) in just one day and still be my normal mellow self. My body just needs that much coffee to function (or maybe I need to give it up and become a real human.... eh, school is starting soon ain't gonna happen).
A few weeks ago (yes, really) when Dave left me home all alone to go fishing in Canada (yes, really), I met up with Sara in Wichita for some rainy shopping and girl time, which was much needed after spending several days alone and only speaking to the two puppies in my home. It was a beautiful day, somehow not scorching hot as one would expect mid summer in Kansas and it was drizzly and perfect. I love the rain and coffee and friends, so how could it not be? We met up at my favorite coffee shop in Wichita, Reverie, first and got lattes. I had their mocha which is made from straight up chocolate and really freaking good. It was a throwback to my high school days when the only way I would drink coffee was if it was mostly chocolate and it was a really good choice. Reverie has delicious coffee and it is also really cute inside. I love it there. I only found it last year or so as part of a scouting mission with Mojo's and we all fell in love. After visiting a few thrift stores and vintage stores we stopped for lunch at Tanya's soup kitchen. I am seriously so glad they are still open but still so sad about what happened. It is really a beautiful thing that someone stepped in to keep her dream open and running. I love going there for meals- it is so good! After a few more shops, and needing more caffeine due to the amount of shops we visited, we stopped at Mead's Corner for our second round of coffee this time iced because it was starting to get a little bit warm and muggy. I love walking around downtown wichita and looking at the beautiful old brick buildings and murals. It was the perfect end to a long day of girl time. These are among three of my very favorite places to go in Wichita, Kansas, and there are of course way more. What are your favorite places to stop there? xo Leah
