Here is my second round of DIY's I've tried for our home. Slowly our little home is coming together with little changes here and there through DIY's (and frequent trips to Target and IKEA... whoops!). I can't help but smile while walking around seeing all of the changes. It is probably weird how happy the little things in my house make me.
I rediscovered this DIY Fringe Pillow via A Beautiful Mess recently and was so inspired! I immediately ran out, got all of the supplies, and made it that day. The coral pillow from Target that was listed on the original DIY is no longer available, so I bought some burlap and sewed one up! I added some white fabric for a lining on the inside so that none of my stuffing would come out, though you could create a cover for one of your current pillows instead. Once my pillow was done I picked out some yarn that matched my living room colors and now I am in love!
I keep looking around my house and finding new things that I would like to update, or switch out. Dave will probably be happy when I am teaching again and my brain is too tired to seek out new projects;). I tried spray painting a basket that we had on our bathroom shelves because I decided that space needed to be lightened a little... let's just say it did not go so well... So I decided that these Bathroom Storage Bags from The Lovely Drawer would be the perfect solution and they were! How do you store all of the products in your bathroom?
I'm sure I have mentioned before that the house that we live in is pretty small... so to keep things from getting disorganized and cluttered I like to store things in creative ways. This DIY Leather & Copper Cup Organizer via A Beautiful Mess was the perfect solution for getting some of my make-up brushes and lipsticks up off of our dresser! Now it looks so much cleaner.
I swear, one this corner of our living room was actually begging me for a plant. It looked so empty and bland before and a succulent cheered that right up. I tried out this Macrame Plant Hanger DIY from Chi Chi Dee Handmade to hang one up and loved it so much that I went ahead and made a second one for our dining room!
I adore PF candles and have several around my home. It breaks my heart a little when they run out, but this DIY Candle Jar Succulent Pot from Fine Life Co using empty candle containers from PF Candle Company makes it so that those adorable little jars can stick around longer!
What DIY's have you tried lately?
