The day I met my little Professor is a day that I would not trade in for anything in the world. It marks the day that my heart grew larger, the day I began learning how to take care of another life, and the day I learned to love unconditionally. My mom and I had gone to the Grand Ole’ Trunk that afternoon to buy back a pair of shoes that she had donated. Upon walking up to the door we saw a sign that said “Shih Tzu Puppies for Sale.” I ran to the back to find two little puppies; one was a little female and one was Professor. I didn’t even ask to hold the other one somehow I knew right away that he was the one. He was the runt of his litter and as adorable as a dog can possibly be. I picked him up and all I could see was his big round belly, his gigantic shiny black eyes, his bright pink tongue sticking out of his mouth, and his crazy soft black, white, and grey hair sticking up every which way. He looked so sweet and sleepy & I knew right then that I would love this dog forever. This dog would become my little puppy that I would shower with love until the day he passed away.
